"I had a frustrating experience with this agency’s renters insurance process. My initial email expressed an intention to purchase a policy, but also stated “before I complete the purchase” and asked about adding an Interested Party.

My concern is that it was not clearly explained when the application would be submitted for binding or locked in their system. My recollection is that the agent did not ask me to confirm authorization for that step during our phone call. The agency disputes this and says it proceeded based on my email and our conversation. I requested any available call recording or notes supporting its account; none were provided in the email exchange.

I subsequently received policy documents and a $148.20 bill. Resolving the matter required repeated follow-ups, and the cancellation took longer than the approximately one week initially estimated.

The agency ultimately confirmed that the policy was canceled effective September 6 and the full premium balance cleared. No payment was collected, and the agency stated that coverage had never been placed in force.

I appreciate that the matter was resolved, but the unclear communication and time spent following up caused considerable frustration. I expected a clear explanation of the process and confirmation of my consent before the application was finalized."
